Common questions about Hopcinder. Didn’t find an answer? Email us — we read every message.

Does the app need an internet connection?
No. Everything works offline — you can play in airplane mode.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. It is not uploaded anywhere.
Will I lose progress if I reinstall?
Yes. Uninstalling removes all local data, because nothing is stored on servers.
How do I play Hopcinder?
Tap Play on the Run tab and your runner starts moving on their own. Tap anywhere on the screen to hop over the glowing cinders. Each cinder you clear adds a point. One tap gives one hop - you cannot hop again in mid-air. Touch a cinder and the run ends; tap Again to start a new run or Home to go back.
What is a Scorch?
If you clear a cinder group by a very small margin, you score a Scorch: one bonus point and +1 to your Scorch streak. A safe, wide hop resets the streak to zero. Your Scorches and best Scorch streak are shown at the end of each run and in the Log.
How do Ridges work?
There are 12 Ridges. Every 25 cinders cleared in a single run takes you to the next Ridge (Ridge 12 needs 275 cinders in one run). Higher Ridges place cinders closer together and mix in bigger groups, and the pace also rises every 20 seconds. The Ridges tab shows how many cinders you still need for the next one.
Can I pause a run or turn off vibration?
Tap the pause button in the top-right corner during a run; the game also pauses itself when you leave the app. Open Settings (gear icon on the Run tab) to switch off "Haptic on hop" or "Show tap hint".
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings and tap Reset progress, then confirm. This clears your run log, best score and Ridges, and returns the Settings toggles to their defaults. All data is stored only on your device, so it cannot be restored after a reset.
